Education Ministry
The purpose of the Education Ministry at First Baptist Church of Madison is to develop every believer
into a mature, responsible follower of Christ and to lay the foundation for other people to come to a
personal relationship with Christ through our witness. We do this through five areas:
Fellowship - John 13:35, Jesus said, "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you
love one another." People want to be loved and needed, from the smallest child to the oldest adult.
We want to be a channel for God's love to you.
Bible Study - 1 Timothy 3:16-17, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking,
correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for
every good work." We seek to bring individuals into an encounter with God through the Bible.
Service - Romans 12:4-6 "Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members
do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member
belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us." We are to help
Christians discover their spiritual gifts and equip them for service.
Evangelism/Missions - Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you
will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." We are to
equip every believer to be a witness where they work and live.
Worship/Prayer - Luke 4:8 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.'"
Since God is to be our focus, we are helping individuals learn how to pray and worship.
We look forward to serving with you as you commit yourself to growing stronger in all of these five areas of your
spiritual life. If we can help you in any way, please contact our Minister of Education, Ben Atkinson, at 601-856-6177.
