Children's MinistryOur Children's Ministry Is Committed To Providing Quality Teaching And Fun Experiences For Our Elementary Age Children. Our Children's Ministry Currently Offers The Following Opportunities:
Sunday School - At FBC our main ongoing Bible study time for children happens on Sunday morning at 8:30 and 9:45. Classes are offered for grades 1-6 on the second floor of the education wing. During this time your child will be engaged in fun and challenging activities that will help them learn more about the Bible and how to become more like Christ. Our trained and experienced teachers will come alongside you as parents to help build the important spiritual foundation that every child needs in order to learn what it means to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
We are really excited about our new Sunday School curriculum “DiscipleLand.” This curriculum is designed to partner with teachers and parents to transform the lives of children to be disciples for Christ. The 3 key components that we will be teaching your child are how to know God intimately, love Him passionately and to serve Him selflessly. Each level of the curriculum teaches your child important aspects of our Christian faith. To view the entire core curriculum map, visit the DiscipleLand website. There are so many ways for you, as parents, to be involved in what your kids are learning.
At the beginning of each quarter, you will receive a parent’s information page. In this information, you will learn what your child will be studying throughout the quarter. It will also give you information on accessing the DiscipleZone website so that you and your child can access the additional resources available. Each week your child will have a take home sheet with a class code on it for you to do together. On this website you can access the key verse for each week and help your child memorize scripture. You will also find the SwordWork section that will take you to the Bible Reading Plan for you and your child to read together each week, plus much, much more. On Sunday nights from 6-7pm, children from grades 1st-4th will have fun learning how to live for Christ from the inside out. Our theme this quarter is “Extreme Makeover: Redesigned Attitudes.” We will be digging into what it means to have a Christ-like attitude, based off of Philippians 2:5. We meet in room 200-202 (2nd floor of the Education Building) for our large group time before breaking off into small groups for more activities and discussion.
![]() On Sunday nights from 6-7pm, 5th and 6th graders will be discovering how to live God’s truths throughout every circumstance they may face. This discipleship class meets in room 203 of the Education Building. 6th Grade Bible Study - On Tuesday afternoons during the school year we offer a unique Bible study opportunity for 6th graders only. After school on Tuesdays we pick the children up from both middle schools and bring them back to the church. They have time to hang out, have a snack and fellowship with their friends before beginning our Bible study time. We then provide a 45 minute Bible study time and parents can pick their children up at 5:00pm at the CAC. Topics that will be covered are sharing our faith, friends, music, spritual gifts, how to know you have a personal relationship with Christ and many others. This is a great time for your 6th grader to learn more about the truth of God's word with kids their own age.
