Preschool Ministry

Thank you for choosing First Baptist Church, Madison. Our preschool ministry is committed to providing quality teaching, guidance, and nurture each time a preschooler comes to church. Our preschool ministry strives to help each preschool family in the following areas:
Sunday School - Our greatest opportunity to lay foundations about God, Jesus, and the Bible is every Sunday morning in Sunday School. Bible learning activities are taught in age-appropriate ways to encourage your child's spiritual development. Sunday School meets on Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m., and childcare only at 11:00 a.m. for birth through three-year-olds (see ETC below).
ETC - Following Sunday School, Extended Teaching Care (ETC) continues Bible learning activities for preschoolers, birth through three-year-olds, during morning worship services. ETC meets on Sundays at 9:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Preschool Choir - What better way can Christ be praised than through children singing? Age-graded choirs are available for threes through fives to teach them the joy and ministry of music. Preschool Choir meets Sundays at 6:00 p.m. during the school year.
Mission Friends - Learning how to share the love of Jesus with others is important for preschoolers. Here children have the opportunity to develop skills that will last a lifetime. Mission Friends meets on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. during the school year.
Parent/Child Dedication Service - This service is a special time for parents to pledge to raise their child in a Christian home. Parents can sign up for a service in the preschool office.
Preschool Childcare - Childcare for birth through two-year-olds is provided at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Sundays during the worship times. For other events (adult choir rehearsal, ladies' bible studies, etc.) involving adults at our church we provide childcare as requested. Paid childcare workers are trained to provide quality teaching any time preschoolers are at church.
