UPDATE: March 17, 2020
We pray this finds you well and resting in the Lord. These are unprecedented times for our generation, and in the unknown, we can easily become anxious or fearful. This year we have been focused on "Growing in Christ" through daily Bible reading, scripture memorization and teaching; that will not change because of a virus. Being a people of the word each day is the best way we can be prepared for times such as these!
While we continue to saturate our hearts and minds with God's Word, we have had to make some temporary changes to the way in which we gather. These changes are not compelled by fear or persecution; but rather, they are compelled by love and care for the church body, the city and the country. Through consultation with healthcare professionals and considering the CDC's recommendations, we understand that by gathering in large groups we are not just putting ourselves at risk, but also potentially quickening the pace of the spread and in turn further straining the healthcare system.
After prayer and discussion with the church council, deacon body and staff, we have come to the following plan of action as a response to COVID-19:
In addition, we are currently exploring solutions for our Sunday morning Bible Fellowship Groups to gather online as well.
We will not gather at FBC Madison on Wednesday, March 18, March 25 or April 1 for any of our age-group studies or services. However, we will be offering an online teaching time by Pastor Ronnie at 6:00 pm each of these Wednesday evenings.
All other weekday gatherings at FBC Madison have been suspended through April 5.
We are sensitive to the fact that COVID-19 is not only effecting our health care systems, but also our economy; and that there may be some within our church body who will be strained financially during this season. Due to the suspension of on-campus gatherings we would like to offer three alternative ways to continue to give to the church and its ministries:
- Online: www.fbcmadison.org/give
- Church Office: We have placed an offering box in the foyer of the church office for easy drop off.
- Mail: You can mail your offering to: FBC Madison, 2100 Main St., Madison, MS, 39110
FBCM Office and Staff
Our church staff and office will be open during our normal business hours and exercising caution in any meetings and workplace gatherings.

What this means for us as a church today
In times of trial, remember that we are not without hope! Our confidence is securely placed in the Rock of our Salvation: Jesus Christ. May each of us go before our Father in Heaven and pray for:
- healing for those who have been affected by the virus
- courage and strength for those who are working the front lines in our healthcare system
- wisdom for our elected officials as they navigate this difficult season
As always, if you have any needs during this time, please contact our church office by calling 601-856-6177.
Grace and peace to you through our Lord Jesus Christ,
