UPDATE: May 6, 2020

We will continue to meet online-only throughout the month of May. Church leadership is currently developing and praying through our phased reopening plan. We hope to publish this plan in the next two weeks.

UPDATE: April 2, 2020

As we continue to care for our community and respond to the government’s recommendations concerning Covid-19, we will be closing the church offices as of 5:00 pm Thursday, April 2 and remain closed until the shelter-in-place order has been lifted. This is not a shutdown of the church and its ministries, but rather the temporary closing of 2100 Main Street as a gathering place and office space.

This Sunday, we will be taking the Lord's Supper. We invite you to join us from your home by preparing juice/water and crackers/bread.

As a reminder, you can join us online Sunday morning at 10:30 am and Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm.

UPDATE: March 17, 2020

We pray this finds you well and resting in the Lord. These are unprecedented times for our generation, and in the unknown, we can easily become anxious or fearful. This year we have been focused on "Growing in Christ" through daily Bible reading, scripture memorization and teaching; that will not change because of a virus. Being a people of the word each day is the best way we can be prepared for times such as these!

While we continue to saturate our hearts and minds with God's Word, we have had to make some temporary changes to the way in which we gather. These changes are not compelled by fear or persecution; but rather, they are compelled by love and care for the church body, the city and the country. Through consultation with healthcare professionals and considering the CDC's recommendations, we understand that by gathering in large groups we are not just putting ourselves at risk, but also potentially quickening the pace of the spread and in turn further straining the healthcare system.

After prayer and discussion with the church council, deacon body and staff, we have come to the following plan of action as a response to COVID-19:

In addition, we are currently exploring solutions for our Sunday morning Bible Fellowship Groups to gather online as well.

What this means for us as a church today

In times of trial, remember that we are not without hope! Our confidence is securely placed in the Rock of our Salvation: Jesus Christ. May each of us go before our Father in Heaven and pray for:

  • healing for those who have been affected by the virus
  • courage and strength for those who are working the front lines in our healthcare system
  • wisdom for our elected officials as they navigate this difficult season

As always, if you have any needs during this time, please contact our church office by calling 601.856.6177.

Grace and peace to you through our Lord Jesus Christ,
FBC Madison
